Information about the owner of After Hours Typing Service
Barbara Thornton has over 25 years of office experience. She has worked in the retail field,
insurance business, state government (State of Arkansas), and for the US Postal Service.
During her time with the State of Arkansas, Ms. Thornton worked with the Employment
Security Division as a clerk typist and was quickly upgraded to Secretary I. Following this
position, she took the position of Secretary II for the Workers Compensation Division. This
position included the typical office tasks including much statistical typing and word
processing for various publications.
After working for the State of Arkansas, Barbara took a job with the US Postal Service as a
clerk. This position includes entering data into computer from change of address cards sent
in by customers. Barbara still works for the postal service and has 19 years service with
them.
Barbara also has done volunteer data entry of the 1930 census for the Michigan Gen Web
site.
